I have a scholarship but no income document, how should I report it in Sprintax?

ℹ️️ Please note that scholarships, fellowships and grants (tuition waiver) awarded to cover qualified educational expenses:

  • Tuition and fees required for enrollment or attendance at an educational organization

  • Fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at the educational organization

may not be reportable or taxable if you are a degree candidate

You are a candidate for a degree if you:

  1. Attend a primary or secondary school or are pursuing a degree at a college or university, or
  2. Attend an educational institution that:
    a) Provides a program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor's or higher degree, or offers a program of training to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation; and
    b) Is authorized under federal or state law to provide such a program and is accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation agency.

📢 IMPORTANT: As an IIE participant, in the case IIE has informed you that you will NOT be receiving Form 1042-S for your IIE grant/payment please do NOT report it anywhere in your Sprintax account.
