You can only sign documents if your account is complete and you have access to the Tax Forms section:
Step 1
When you access your Tax Forms section, you will see the form you need to sign with Review and sign link. You have to click on the link to proceed to the next step.
Step 2
Two-factor authentication is required in order to place a signature on your form. You can activate 2FA when you click on Review and Sign for the specific form:
Step 3
Two-factor authentication process
1. Press Activate on the screen in Step 2 in your browser and it will redirect you to Sprintax Identity.
2. In the Sprintax Identity Portal, click on Add Authenticator+ under Security.
3. Give a name to be displayed for your 2FA in your preferred Authenticator app and click Verify.
4. Scan QR Code with your 1Password, Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc. and once your Sprintax account is added, enter the one-time passcode from your authenticator app for your Sprintax account and click Verify.
5. Two-Factor Authentication is now switched on for your Sprintax account.
Important The 6-digit code in the Authenticator app refreshes every 30 seconds. When you are asked to enter the 6-digit code, it needs to be within the 30 seconds limit, otherwise, you’ll be prompted to enter the code again.
Please, do not delete the Sprintax Calculus account in the Authenticator app to maintain access to your Sprintax Calculus profile.
Step 4
Digital signature process
Once you activate MFA you can go back to your Sprintax Calculus account and this time click "Continue".
Click on the authenticator account you just created.
In the pop-up window enter the 6-digit code from your Authenticator app for your Sprintax account.
3. You will see the Review and sign screen below:
4. You must download your form by selecting the button “Download form” and review for any inconsistencies
5. You must read and check the tick boxes for both declaration and agreement, and only then you will see a new button “E-sign”

Disable 2FA
Step 1
Once logged in, if you wish to permanently remove 2FA from your account, click on Account in the upper right corner and then Sprintax Identity:
Once in Sprintax Identity, click on Security and then under Authenticator app you can delete an authentication from the 3 dots menu:
Step 2
Remove the Account from Your Authenticator App.
Open your authenticator app and delete or remove the Sprintax Calculus account from the app.
This ensures that you can successfully re-enable MFA in the future if needed.
Please, keep in mind already e-signed forms will stay intact when you disable 2FA, however, if you need to re-sign them you will need to switch on 2FA again.
MFA Not Working?
If you are unable to complete MFA, one of the situations below may apply.
1. Authenticator App Was Deleted
If you deleted the authenticator app from your device without first disconnecting it from Sprintax Calculus, MFA will no longer work.
Reinstalling the app and attempting to reconnect it will not resolve the issue if you have backed up your Authenticator.
What to do:
Contact your institution directly.
They can provide you with a special reset link, valid for 24 hours, to reset your MFA.
2. You Switched Devices
If you changed phones or tablets, your Sprintax account may still be linked to the authenticator app on your previous device and you have not backed up your Authenticator.
What to do:
Contact your institution directly.
They will send you a 24-hour MFA reset link so you can set up MFA on your new device.
Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication Through SMS
You can register your U.S. phone number through Sprintax Identity as well.
1. Log in to Calculus.
2. Click Account in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Select Sprintax Identity.
4. On the Identity Server dashboard, select "Security" on the left, scroll to "Phone Number" section and click on "Add phone +".
5. Enter the phone number and click to agree to receive SMS messages.
6. Scroll to the end of the instructions and click "Agree".
7. Click "Add" to save the phone number.
Phone Number Verification
Once the phone number is added:
• The system will send an SMS containing a 6-digit verification code.
• You need to enter this code in the verification field to confirm your phone number.
After successful verification, the phone number will appear in the account and can be used for SMS MFA when e-signing tax forms.
Removing a Phone Number
You can remove your phone number at any time:
1. Navigate to the Security section in Sprintax Identity.
2. Click the three dots beside the phone number.
3. Select Delete.
Removing the number will stop the system from sending SMS verification codes to that device.
