Do I need to file a separate tax return for my IIE income?

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you have income from IIE that needs to be reported on your tax return, please be aware that you should not submit a separate tax return specifically for this income. Instead, you should file a single tax return that includes all of your U.S. income combined. This means that all sources of income earned in the United States should be reported together on one U.S. income tax return.

๐Ÿ”Ž After IIE issues your 1042-S form(s), you will receive a new email from IIE with detailed instructions on how to file your tax return using Sprintax Returns (https://www.sprintax.com/returns/).  This email will guide you through the process, ensuring you understand how to correctly report your IIE income. Additionally, you will have the option to include any other non-IIE income you may have earned, allowing you to consolidate all your income sources into a single tax return.
